Jack Collier goes from sidelines to JEGS ALL STARS
Benton, LA
Share |

jack collier drag racerCollier Family Racing has a roller coaster of a year. A trip to the winner’s circle with Steve Collier in Super Gas along with some late round trips by other team members has been the highlights.  Jack Collier is looking to change all that with one trip to Route 66 next week and the JEGS ALL STAR competition, however, even that journey has been filled with adversity.

“I hurt my ankle working on my car early in the year at the race track, being out of the car for a few weeks has driven me crazy. I knew that I had to listen to the doctors, heal up to be ready for this race. I healed a little faster than expected and was able to race last weekend in Tulsa. It took a little adjustment in the car with the brace, after a few laps I settled in and drove the Super Gas car to the Semi-Finals ” stated Jack Collier.

Jack has added his name to the list of JEGS ALL STAR Qualifiers on the Collier Team, as brother Steve was an ALL STAR in 2015 for the South Central Division. The events that take place will not be new for Jack, yet the excitement of racing against the 7 of the best Super Gas racers in the country peaks his interest.

jack collier super gas burnout“I am not a racer who takes anyone for granted at any event, but you can not overlook the fact of how Trevor Larsen performed last year and he is coming back this year. We don’t get to see a lot of these top tier racers on a regular basis, a couple times a year if we are lucky. I am looking forward to the opportunity of crossing off JEGS ALL-STAR WINNER from my bucket list.” said Collier.

The Collier Family will take a little time off before heading to Joliet next week, for the NHRA Route 66 Nationals and the JEGS ALL-STAR event, they are focusing on the preparation of all their cars that will be in attendance next weekend.

“Tony Brown (our chief wrench) is going over everything making sure rigs, trailers and cars are ready. It’s a ton of work, but he is the best, he races with us, it helps that he knows what could go wrong, so he is looking for the issues before it happens. We are all excited and ready for Chicago.” Collier smiled.
