Mark McDonald has been chasing “Wally” around for over 30 years. This past weekend at the legendary Thunder Valley Dragstrip, he found him!

Mark McDonald Drag Racer

McDonald navigated thru the competition that included defending World Champion Jeffery Barker in round number one. Mark was the recipient of an Andy Horne red light in round two, a breakout in round three. Round four included a violent tire shaking Lester Johnson to meet up what would be an all Ford, all Mustang all “Blue Oval” final between Ronnie Proctor and McDonald.

With the flash of the tree coming on, McDonald’s 67 Mustang was out of the gate carrying a “Perfect Light” to Proctor’s .019 light and that is all McDonald needed to get the electricity burning at the end of the track. 6.866 seconds later McDonald found “Wally” waiting on him for the ride back to Boonville, IN. The win in Bristol matched up with the earlier runner up finish in Chicago now has McDonald sitting a 100 points out of 1st place in the World Championship chase.
