Rick started the following build late in the fall of 2018 and wasted no time in going to the winner's circle in one of his newly built 2018 M&M Dragsters.  On his 2nd weekend out Rick attended the Triple $7k on Thanksgiving weekend at Prescott Raceway in Arkansas and scored a big check on Saturday Night!

The 2018 246" M&M Dragster Chassis were wired by M&M's own Justin Melton before being delivered to Rick for final assembly at Rick's Speed Shop.  Of course the chassis were powder coated in house at Rick's Powder Coating like all M&M Chassis are.  Hoosier Tires all around as Rick's is an authorized dealer for Hoosier.

Rick's is also used premium electronic products from K&R Performance and MSD.  Both cars were outfitted with K&R Pro Cubes, Switch Panes and Wiring Boards.  MSD Grids were also used on both cars.

The 2 dragster receive power from these BBC 598" Short Deck engines which are basically identical except the engine in the blue car get's a little extra E.T. help from a BRODIX aluminum block.

Fuel and Air are supplied from one of Gett'm Garage's all new 1600 CFM Twin Blade carburetors which propel the dragsters to low 4.60's at 149 mph.  Fuel is fed to both cars via APD Mechanical fuel pumps.

Rick went with Strange Engineering for the rear end and brakes on both cars.  Strange Center Sections with 4.30 ratio rear gears and 40 Spline gun drilled axles take the power to the ground, while a dual caliper brake system brings everything to a halt at the end of each run.

fti dragster transmission

When it came to the transmission and converter combinations, rick is an avid user of FTI Performance and Abruzzi Transmissions.  Rick chose to use one of each builders transmissions in the builds with torque converters coming from FTI in the 9 inch version.

Rick's good friend Aubry Gunn at Gunn Art in Southhaven, Mississippi laid out and painted both dragsters with an awesome looking matte cleared design of red, blue and silver over the charcoal.

As we release this build going into the winter months, we hope this inspires you while getting into the shop for the off season and preparing for 2019.  Keep Rick's in mind if you need any powder coating, header coating or new parts for your winter upgrades on race car builds.  They are adding companies to their list of available brands all the time.  And if you're racing in the Mid South this next season, we recommend you stay out of the way of these two well build dragsters as it looks like they already know their way to the winner's circle.
