Among them was Rick Baehr from Wellington, Ohio who recently won the title “World No Box Champion”. The awards went to Randy Easterday from Indiana, Champion of Michigan Powersports Motorcycle class.

Glendora, CA - A JOLLY OLD ELF: John Force, 13-time NHRA POWERade world champion and winner of a record 119 races, put countless smiles on the faces of Southern California children as host of a recent holiday car show which benefited the California Highway Patrol’s “ChiP’s for Kids” toy drive. Force, doing his best Santa impersonation, entertained more than 18,000 fans with 780 show cars and autograph opportunities with NHRA superstars Eric Medlen (Indianapolis), Robert Hight (Anaheim Hills, Calif.), Ashley Force (Anaheim Hills, Calif.) and Brandon Bernstein (Indianapolis), among others. The single-day event at his Yorba Linda, Calif.-based race shop, netted more than 10,000 toys for the program.

Glendora, CA - The NHRA Stock/Super Stock Committee has reviewed written requests received by November 15, 2005, from Lucas Oil Sportsman racers in its evaluation of specific Stock and Super Stock horsepower adjustments and has made the noted changes. These adjustments are effective January 1, 2006. Letters received after November 15, 2005 will be addressed during the next review.

Glendora, CA - MOVIN’ ON UP: At only 22 years old, Morgan Lucas (Indianapolis) is quickly moving up in the NHRA pecking order. Just a little more than a year removed from his Top Alcohol Dragster days, Lucas has moved into a brand new shop on the outskirts of Indianapolis and he has been named general manager of his own Morgan Lucas Racing team. “As far as exciting points I’ve reached along the way, these are the ones most people don’t get to see,” said Lucas, who finished fifth in the 2005 POWERade Series standings, his first full year of competition. “It’s the preparation, the assembling of the people, the construction of the shop, the offices, seeing the invoices, all those things coming together shows we’re putting together a business here.
