ATI Converter Pressure Dump Kits for Powerglide Transmissions

ATI Performance Products, Inc now offers Converter Pressure Dump Kits for Powerglide Transmissions – External Kit part # 206451 and Internal Kit part # 206450 – These kits include the solenoid assemblies, all required hoses, fittings and mounting hardware. We also offer part # 206452 that fits ATI‘s Dual Cooler Port Gen 2 SuperCase which has a different length hose. A converter charge pressure dump solenoid allows the volume and pressure of the fluid in the converter to be partially bypassed, which loosens the converter to help turbo cars spool, or any car have a more controlled launch with less initial wheel speed. The dumps can also be activated on gear changes.

ATI offers both internal and external dump kits to match up with your needs. ATI's external dump allows the most volume and pressure to be bypassed while turbo cars work best with an internal dump to, "starve" the converter and help the engine to spool. Both kits can also be used on marginal track surfaces to soften the converter or even if your converter is too tight all around. When you have both of these cooler pressure dumps coupled with ATI's Super F fluid in 5 different viscosities you have a lot of tuning ability without changing a converter.
