Royce MillerRoyce Miller started racing in 1973. He is the first driver to ever win both the IHRA and NHRA World Bracket Finals in the same year. Not only is he a Championship driver but also a track operator who along with Terry Sinke, were the first to start buybacks for racers at Tri-State Dragway. It was in 1984, that Royce took the victory in the Bracket Finals Super Pro Champion NHRA Division 1 at Maple Grove Raceway, as well as IHRA World Bracket Finals Champion in Super Pro at Bristol. Thus entitling him to receive his "card o’ gold" while driving his 1983 Camaro built by ex-Pro Stocker Chic Deninno’s Fabrication Inc. Receiving this card allowed free entries to any IHRA or NHRA race. Not only would this Camaro take Royce to the winners circle many times over but was also quite a show piece. The Camaro won Best Appearing Car at the NHRA Division 1 Bracket Finals, first place in the World of Wheels car show, and Best Engineered Car at the IHRA Pro Am Nationals.

Major Bracket wins include those at Moroso, Bradenton, Ten Tuck Series, and Tri State. During this time in 1984 Royce Miller went to the semi-finals and finals 17 times, winning $25,000.
In 1985 Royce earned the E.T. Driver of the year for NHRA Division 1. National Dragster Magazine also named him Bracket Driver of the year. He was also Track Champion at Maryland International Raceway. Royce Miller Camaro
Royce Miller Trophy Photo In Quick Rod, Royce received 1989 IHRA Spring Nationals Champion in Bristol. That same year in Super Comp he was named Le Grandnational Molson Champion in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This being the first NHRA National Event that Royce entered, and never entered another since. Well, not only is Royce an outstanding racer, he also ranks as one of the best track operators, receiving 1992 IHRA Track Operator of the Year. MIR had the first all 6 second Pro Stock field in history at the 1994 President’s Cup Race. Also the first track to run all Import events on the East Coast.

In 1995 was awarded IHRA Track of the Year, and in 1998 IHRA Promoter of the Year. Royce Miller was just recently named Man of the Year for 2000 at the IHRA Banquet held in Louisville, Kentucky.
Many contributions have been made by this man in our sport of bracket racing. He developed the current Compulink Auto Start System and Bogey time trial contest with Bob Brockmeyer. The concept, parameter and design were Royce’s. Bob developed the software. Royce worked with Bob, and encouraged him into developing the Dial-in Boards that we now use on the starting line.
