Tim Adams Wins Amid Wilkesboro Raceway Controversy
7/17/2012
Wilkesboro, NC
Saturday night at Wilkesboro Raceway park saw Tim Adams do something he hasn't been able to do since 2006...win!
Between motor problems and just plain bad luck, Adams has tried and tried but could never seal the deal.

Saturday night, the weather hampered the car count as it was raining everywhere around but not at the track. With the car count so low, Track owner Danny Dunn decided to combine both the Modified & Top ET classes to give a single winner a bigger purse. Points were still divided as though they raced separate. The idea was good but that's all. Some racers got upset with the decision.
" I was just trying to make the best of a bad situation." said Dunn. "But that won't happen again! and I just hope the racers know I was just trying to keep their best interests in mind."
In the finals, Adams met up with one of the best bracket racers in the southeast, Modified ET standout, Johnny Hodges. Hodges gave his best, but Adams crossed the line first by a scant few hundred thousandths of a second.
Racing continues this week on Thursday night with the popular Test N Tune night where you canwatch your friends or join in on the fun for only $10!
WRP will be closed this Saturday but will re-open for racing action with the stars & cars of the WRP Points Series Saturday July 28th.
