            Big things are happening in the little rural town of Lyons Indiana. Just off Hwy 57 in Green County Indiana sits Lyons Raceway Park, an 1/8 mile drag strip nestled in between corn fields and turkey barns.  Some may not even notice it is there, but racers and fans of the Division 3 National Hot Rod Association have sure taken notice! Lyons Raceway Park has been able to earn the prestigious “Summit Racing Series Track of the Year” award, not once, not twice, but an unprecedented three years in a row! Track manager Mickey White states; “It has been a great honor, not only for the track, but our owners, fans, racers and employees. The national recognition brings a sense of pride for everyone involved, with what is commonly referred to around the track as; Team L.R.P. and our racing family”!

            One thing that makes this honor even more incredible is that the track has only been under the current ownership since 2009 and has collected the “Track of the Year” award in 2010, 2011 and 2012. General Manager Bent Jones has taken great pride in rebuilding the once desolate facility into what has been called “The nicest 1/8 mile track in the county” by several racers and fans. With a focus on family entertainment Brent Jones comments: “We may not have the biggest facility, but we will continue to make improvements so that we have one of the nicest facilities for the racers and families of the surrounding area to come and have a fun, affordable day of entertainment”.

             NHRA North Central Division 2012 champions were crowned during the 46th annual Land of the Winners Awards Banquet held at the Sheraton Indianapolis at Keystone Crossing on December 8, 2012. NHRA North Central Division consists of 32 tracks spread over several states including; Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Ontario Canada. What makes this award so important is that the voting process is made up of racers, fans and track personnel who are all directly involved with the racing industry. 

            Lyons Raceway Park is a seasonal entertainment venue open select Friday’s and every Saturday during the months of April – October. Lyons Raceway Park owners and management would like to thank all of our patrons for their continued support.
