Atmore Dragway Returns With $1.5 Million in Renovations

Atmore Dragway was built in the 60’s and continued in operation until 2006. 

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians and Gary Moore, reached an agreement in 2012, to renovate the racetrack.   Renovations have exceeded 1.5 million dollars and additional costs to date with ongoing construction improvements.

To date, improvements include full concrete racing surface, as well as, new asphalt on shut down, staging lanes, return and pit road areas.  Extensive engineered facility lighting is in position, as well as, underground wiring for lighting, timing system, PA system and digital scoreboards has been installed.

The track is centrally located in South Alabama one mile off of I-65.

ATMORE SCHEDULE SUMMARY:

Regular Saturday Bracket Program runs from March through November: 

1,500 to Win in Super Pro & $1,000 to Win in No Box.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

1st Saturday of each month pays $5,000 in Super Pro & $2,500 in No Box.

 

2/15/2014:  15th Annual No Box Nationals {$2,500 To Win} - 2 Races in one day

2/22/2014:  8th Annual Super Pro Nationals {$5,000 To Win} - 2 Races in one day

3/19/2014:  Pro Mod Event

10/25/2014:  Pro Mod Event

11/23/2014:  18th Annual Turkey Trots ($5,000 To Win in Super Pro & $2,500 To Win in No Box}
