Flicker Promotions' Spring Stamped Race Recap

This past weekend Flicker Promotions hosted the Spring Stampede at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas where Rocky McLain II, Peeps Pennington and Donnie Burleson all took home top honors from the days.
The first day of racing at the Spring Stampede powered by The Hose Connection is in the books and Rocky McLain II is the winner of the Burleson Construction Inc. $10,000 Warm-Up!! McLain took the win in the final over Landon Martinez. Martinez was .014 take .005 to be 1 thou under to give the win to McLain who was .018 dead 2. The Semi Finalist included Bryan Bennett and Steve Collier.
The Environmental Oil Recovery, Inc. No Box Final had two friends square off where Jake Howard defeated a red hot Casey Baugh in a rare double red light affair. Howard's -.007 was 2 thou better than Baugh's -.009 to bring home the $500 bonus. The lone Semi Finalist was fellow Motorcycle racer Dwayne Magee.

Peeps Pennington took home his 3rd Spring Stampede check in three years when he defeated Bart Nelson in the 20k Final Round. Pennington put together a solid run of .010 Dead 1 to take home the win as Nelson matched his .010 reaction time, but broke out to hand Peeps the victory. Derrick Patton was the lone semi finalist.
In the Environmental Oil Recovery, Inc. No Box Final Ennis,Texas own Justin Cervantes beat neighboring towns Waxahachie, Texas native Austin Williams. Cervantes was .014 and ran 5.937 on the Camaro's 5.92 dial while Williams was .042 and ran 6.502 on a 6.49 dial. Semi Finalist were Graeme Rufenacht and Friday's No Box Winner Jake Howard.
Wrapping up our results is our Campbell Racing / Night Moves Racing Jr Dragsters where Colorado's Breyden Scholtz got the win over Hudson Reid. Breyden was .024 on the tree and ran a 7.957 on a 7.91 dial, while Hudson was .044 on the tree and ran a 8.980 on a 8.94. and the lone semi was Emmaly Miller the semi-finalist. Cash Saum took home the Costlow Racing 6-9 Year Old Bonus defeating Clay Burrell. Cash ran 12.084 on a 12.07 dial to defeat Clays 12.550 on a 12.36 dial.
The final day of competition at the 3rd Annual Spring Stampede powered by The Hose Connection is in the books. The Moser Engineering Sunday 20K final had two long time friends square off as Donny Burleson defeated Curt Harvey. Harvey turned it 1 thou red to give the win to Burleson who was .008 and 4.387 on his 4.39 dial. The lone semi finalist was Will Holloman.
The Environmental Oil Recovery, Inc. No-Box class saw Chad Sandlin slide past Wyatt Ezell for the $2,000 bonus. Sandlin was .006 take .003 to be 1 above while Ezell was .020 and 1 thou under. Casey Baugh was the semi finalist as the last remaining motorcycle competitor.
And to wrap up our results in the Campbell Racing/Night Moves Racing Jr Dragster category which saw newcomer Brett Gonzales get the win over “D-Pain” Dawson Rogers. Rogers had the starting line advantage with a .027 to Gonzales .055, but Brett was much closer to the dial going 8.965 on his 8.95 dial while Rogers went 9.123 on his 9.07 dial. Kyle Miller was the Semi Finalist. The Costlow Racing 6-9 year old Bonus went to Hank “The Tank” Mask after he defeated the always tough Blane Carrell.
