Tyler Bohannon Dominates 32nd Annual Ultra Tech Race Fab World Super Pro Challenge

For the past 32 years, during the first weekend of August, the small town of Stanton Michigan has become the focus in the world of big money bracket racing. Mid Michigan Motorplex once again hosted its annual Ultra Tech Race Fab World Super Pro Challenge event. More than 340 entries would stage for round number one, including 32 of the best no box racers from the Midwest.

The final 5 drivers in competition included two former winners of the event. 1995 winner Ricky Adkins had his unique Mini Cooper still in contention along with 2020 winner Cody Heidt. Also Thursday nights winner and Friday night runner up Tyler Bohannon still had his dragster in competition along with local racer Derek Gillman. The racer holding the bye run with five drivers left was Ohio’s CJ Yaeger and his Oldsmobile Omega.

The first pair out matched up the two former champions Adkins and Heidt. The race was over early as Heidt turned on the red light advancing Adkins Mini. The second pair matched up the two dragsters of Bohannon and Gillman. Once again a red light decided this race. Gillman went -.001 ending his chances of winning the main event. Yaeger would take his bye run laying down a .005 reaction time and ran a 7.085 on his 7.10 dial in.

The semi final round would match up Bohannon in his dragster against Yaeger in the Oldsmobile. Bohannon held the advantage on reaction time with a .007 to Yaegar’s .013. At the finish line Bohannon finished the job running right on his 4.54 dial in (4.544). Yaegar was right there running 7.093 (7.08 dial in). Adkins would get the bye run sending him to his 3rd $50,000 to win World Super Pro Challenge final round.

In the 50k final round, like the semi final round, Bohannon gained the starting line advantage. His .008 reaction compared to Adkins .015 would be all he needed. Bohannon drove the finish line perfectly running 4.557 (4.55 dial). Adkins put up a solid final running 4.808 (4.80 dial). With the win Bohannon added his name to a list of all star drivers that can say they have won the OG 50!

Thursday nights $10,000 to win final round matched up Garry Fleenor’s Camaro up against Tyler Bohannon’s dragster. It would be the start of an incredible weekend for Bohannon. Bohannon would defeat the Camaro in the final round with an .015 reaction time and running a 4.560 (4.55 dial In). Fleenor was .042 and ran 5.732 (5.71 dial in). Thursdays No Box 32 winner was Warren Smith.

Fridays $10,000 to win final round saw Cody Heidt and his Malibu making it to the final round and he would race Thursday night winner Tyler Bohannon. Heidt held a large reaction time advantage that would decide this final (.001 to .058). Heidt ran 6.332 (6.32 dial) to seal the deal as Bohannon ran 4.553 (4.53 dial). Fridays No Box 32 winner was Tracy Muchler.

The final race of the weekend was Sundays $5,000 to win finale. The final round matchup was Doug Foley Jr.’s North Carolina S10 up against Connor Jensen’s Michigan based Malibu. Foley held the starting line advantage over Jensen (.019 to .039). Foley would pick up the final win light of the weekend running 5.913 (5.88 dial) compared to Jensen’s 6.034 (6.01 Dial). Sundays No Box 32 winner was Tom Aretakis Jr.
