This past weekend Folk Promotions hosted their Mini Million down at Gainesville Florida where some of the Nation's top big money bracket racers gave it a final go before the off season.

The VP Racing Fuels Warm Up $20K Wednesday at the Laris Motorsports Insurance Mini Million presented by Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels kicked off the Florida 5-Day here at Gainesville Raceway. With three entries remaining, Spencer Massey was the last remaining dragster in a field otherwise dominated by door cars.

The semifinal round didn't disappoint as John Brown let go .024 and backed it up by running dead-on zero. Massey, however, had a .013 advantage on the starting line and matched Brown’s dead-on-zero run to advance to the final round. On the other side of the ladder, Michael Carpenter soloed into the final, setting up a classic Door Car vs. Dragster final for the first $20K Main Event of the week.

Massey’s journey to the final took a little bit of a detour. Doubled during the third round, he had to abandon one entry after rushing to the airport to pick up his fiancée and daughter—missing the Red Dragster call in the process. He made it back just in time for the Blue Dragster call, keeping his hopes alive and driving his way into the final round.

In the final, Carpenter went red by -.007, handing Massey the $20K Warm Up victory and the first big check of the 2025 Laris Motorsports Insurance Mini Million presented by Mickey Thompson. Along with the payday, Massey also earned the event’s signature Winner’s Circle prizes, including a Simpson Race Products Fire Jacket.
