12-17 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - Things Are A-Changing 12/14/2017 Carterville, IL - Hello DRR readers!  It’s been almost three months since I last touched base here On The Road, so we’ve got a little catching up to do! In addition, I’ll try to shed some light on our direction going forward (things, they are a-changing here at team Bogack).

10-17 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - Off My Rocker Tour 10/24/2017 Carterville, IL - On one hand, that’s obviously a bummer; the purpose of the whole trip was to win the championship.  But coming in, I knew that was a long shot.  And with the exception of one bad light in Utah, I was really happy with my driving on the entire tour.

05-17 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - The Main Event 5/29/2017 Carterville, IL - That brought us to the main event, and (three weeks later) the real reason we made the 24+ hour journey West. Obviously, it went well. As I write this, more than a month after the fact, I’m still at a bit of a loss to put the day into words.

03-17 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - Never an Off Season 3/3/2017 Caterville, IL - Recently, I had a young racer ask me: “So man, what do you do when you’re not racing?” I laughed. It’s safe to say that I’m every bit as busy from November through February as I am during race season. Just making sure that our marketing partners are benefiting from their involvement in our program is a job in itself.

12-16 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - 2016 In The Books 12/20/2016 Carterville, IL - The 2016 racing season is in the books. The older I get, the faster these events, weekends, and seasons seem to go by. It’s funny; I race a whole lot less than I used to, and yet as I look up in December, I wonder where 2016 went!

08-16 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - I Guess I'm Getting Old 8/17/2016 Carterville, IL - And my fear, for your sake as a reader, is that my current racing adventures simply don't make for as entertaining of a story! See, it's just not the same! I guess I'm getting old.

09-15 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - Stuff Still Goes Wrong 8/21/2015 Carterville, IL - At this point, I know that whenever and wherever I stop, I'm likely going to be stopped for awhile. I had a full tank of diesel, enough to get home. I figured heck, as long as I don't have to stop, I can make it real close to home; where I can have my local buddies look at the truck and get it sorted out. That can probably happen, right?

03-15 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - Busy Guy 3/9/2015 Carterville, IL - Like many of you (I’m sure), it’s hard for me to fully grasp that it’s 2015. But I’m the guy that still wants to write in 19 as my age on my tech card, and has to mentally shuffle through past addresses to make sure that I write down my current residence (even though we’ve lived here for 5 years).

11-14 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - Part 1 On My List 11/17/2014 Carterville, IL - I swear I’ve had “On the Road” on my “to-do” list for months, but as they say, “Life happens,” and I’ve allowed several other projects to take priority. 11-14 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - Part 2 On My List 11/16/2014 Carterville, IL - I love my life, and I’m having more fun today than ever. But it’s true! I’m still the same knucklehead I was 12 years ago; but I’m happily married with an awesome 18-month-old; I don’t make as many questionable decisions!

05-14 "On The Road" with Luke Bogacki - A Whole Lot of New 5/28/2014 Carterville, IL - Hello DRR-ites! When I started penning this column nearly a month ago, I had a lot of news and happenings to update you on, but very little on-track action to talk about. As a result, this introductory paragraph basically stated that this would be a short column. Needless to say, the month since has been pretty busy.

12-13 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - Country Comes to Town 12/24/2013 Carterville, IL - Speaking in front of the small crowd at the Lucas Oil Awards Ceremony was an experience. It was nerve wracking and it was emotional for me. It’s so difficult to wrap up a life’s worth of work and dreams in a 10 minute speech; and for me, that’s what this is.

10-13 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - The Ongoing Fight 10/29/2013 Carterville, IL - Anyone who has done it will tell you that Indy is a marathon; and they’re right, it’s a weeklong ordeal. But pulling into the waterbox on Monday at Indy is a pretty neat feeling.

07-13 "On The Road" With Luke Bogaki - Best Laid Plans 7/17/2013 Carterville, IL - Regardless of the verbiage, I think that old adage sums up my last month and a half of racing pretty well. As per usual, I came in with a plan. And, as I should know by now, life happens and plans tend to be about as useful as the paper they’re written on.

05-13 "On The Road" With Luke Bogaki - Plus One Small Addition 6/16/2013 Carterville, IL - But to be honest, I was so amazed by the whole process that I completely forgot that we didn’t know the gender! It was 5 or 10 seconds after delivery before my sister-in-law asked the doctor: “Well… Is it a boy or a girl?”

12-12 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - Viva Las Vegas 12/31/2012 Carterville, IL - Plus, if you think about the financial side of things, it’s probably not particularly smart to drive cross-country to attend 2 national events and 1 divisional. But it’s a helluva lot smarter than driving cross-country to attend 1 divisional race!

10-12 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - Mathematically Possibl 10/14/2012 Carterville, IL - Like I’ve said before, I think these columns are more fun to read when the author is ready to toss a jack stand through the computer screen, so I apologize in advance… For the most part, the last few months haven’t sucked at all.

07-12 "On The Road" With Luke Bogaki - Redneck Hillbilly Genius 7/7/2012 Carterville, IL - Then he turns around and says, “I might have something that’ll help you. I’m gonna run home and look, but if someone’s knocking on your trailer in about 20 minutes, ain’t nobody trying to kill you; it’s just me.”

5-12 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - Completely Overhauled 5/23/2012 Carterville, IL - Yes, I realize that the first quarter of 2012 came to a close about six weeks ago. That brings me to my second defense. As of early April, I really didn’t have much to share. I mean, since the last installment of On the Road, all I’ve done is gotten married, built a (insert superlative here) new race car, and completely overhauled my entire racing program.

12-11b "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - Not Single For Long 1/21/2012 Carterville, IL - The big day is under a month away. I’ll be a married man on January 21. Wedding plans have come together very nicely (let’s be honest, that has very little to do with me). It will be a special night, and we’re going to throw a helluva party.

12-11 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - You Wana Drive? 12/26/2011 Carterville, IL - Against my better judgment, I let Jackie talk me into driving his ’64 Chevy II at Baileyton “Good Times” Dragway the following day. Here’s the way the conversation went…

7-11 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - Knuckleheaded Moves 7/12/2011 Carterville, IL - People really seem to get a kick out of it when I get to change wheel studs alongside the interstate, make 20+ mile rides on a moped, and defy most laws of logic and good sense.

4-11 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - Jet Set Start 4/24/2011 Carterville, IL - My racing season got started in late February, some 1900 miles from home in Pomona, CA at the NHRA Winternationals. The trip wasn’t too tough, as the jet liner I rode covered it in about five hours, with a stop in Atlanta (I didn’t think that was on the way).

12-10 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - Everything But Toothpaste 12/29/2010 Carterville, IL - The whole weekend made me feel like I was 16 again, which was pretty cool. I still love this sport enough to do the same crazy stuff I did in high school: Race all day, drive all night to the next track just to do it all over again. What a life!

10-10 "On The Road" With Luke Bogacki - How Time Flies 10/8/2010 Carterville, IL - It’s been an interesting season to say the least. Personally, life has been incredibly good. I’m madly in love with the woman of my dreams, and we bought a beautiful home here in Illinois. ThisIsBracketRacing.com has grown to reach heights I’d never dreamed of. My family and friends are happy and healthy. I have no complaints.
