Joliet, IL - Final winners were crowned this weekend for the postponed Burn Down at Sundown Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event from Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill. The final rounds of competition were held at National Trail Raceway in conjunction with their Lucas Oil event.

Division 5 Team Wins First JEGS Allstars Title

Joliet, IL - In 30 years of JEGS Allstars competition, Division 5 had never claimed possession of the perpetual trophy that goes to the winning team, but that changed when it earned 1,400 points at this year's event, easily topping second-place Division 2, which ended with 1,000 points.

Joliet, IL - Another racer taking home his 2nd win of the year is Luke Bogacki, Carterville, Ill., in Super Gas. Bogacki made his way through the field and posted a run of 9.879 seconds, 163.20 mph. Troy Coughlin Jr, Delaware, Ohio, had the runner up finish and had a lap of 9.878 seconds, 165.31 mph

Joliet, IL - Marco Abruzzi picked up his third NHRA Wally trophy of the weekend when he knocked out Bill Riddle in the Spitzer Race Cars Top Dragster class as Riddle left early with a foul start. Abruzzi won in both Top Dragster and Top Sportsman for the postponed Lucas Oil Series event from Indianapolis that was completed earlier in the weekend

Joliet, IL - JEGS took its annual Allstars competition for Sportsman racers to another level in last Saturday's race at Route 66 Raceway, with four drivers "doubling up" with big cash prizes for scoring both a JEGS Allstars victory and the national event win.
